JACK WERK is President of Werk Thoroughbred
Consultants, Inc., Founding Publisher of the respected journal OWNER-BREEDER, and a partner in CompuSire, the popular pedigree software. During
the 1970's, Jack owned and operated one of the largest real estate brokerages in the San
Francisco Bay Area. A long-time racing enthusiast, he left the real estate business
to pursue his interest in the study of Thoroughbred pedigree. That interest grew
into what is now Werk Thoroughbred Consultants, what many people in racing regard as the
most influential pedigree consulting company in North America. Jack is a frequent
speaker at Thoroughbred conferences worldwide and is highly committed to the principle of
service to the industry.
ROGER LYONS
is Vice President Development with Werk Thoroughbred Consultants, Inc. and managing partner of CompuSire. Roger grew up in Kansas where he
attended Witchita State University, earning his BA in 1969 and his MA in English in 1973.
After developing a number of successful information products during the 1980s, he
began developing software products for Thoroughbred breeders. This culminated in
CompuSire, the most widely distributed pedigree software product in the world. After
serving WTC as an information resources consultant for one year, he joined the staff
full-time in 1993 as a member of the consulting team and as director of product
development. Mr. Lyons has now moved the CompuSire office to Kentucky.
CAROL MURPHY, a
native of Northern California, has served Werk Thoroughbred Consultants, Inc., as its
Office Manager for the past ten years. Carol is the busiest member of the WTC staff
and its prime organizing principle. She coordinates the production and distribution
operations of the organization and generally directs traffic into and out of the
office. She keeps track of the status of all of the work pending and is the person
to be relied upon to keep everything on schedule.
VINCENT P. D'ANGELO
joined the Werk Thoroughbred Consultants, Inc. staff in 1998 as a Research Assistant and
serves as a member of the WTC consulting staff. Over the last ten years, Vincent has
been an avid student of Thoroughbred pedigrees. A fan of the sport since his
childhood days, Vincent received his BA in 1995 from the University of Delaware, and his
JD in 1998 from Widener University School of Law. During his stay at law school he
served as the features editor of the student newspaper, and in 1995, Vincent authored an
article about law school and racing that was published by the Daily Racing
Form.
STEPHEN CHIEN is Senior Systems Administrator for WTC.
Stephen is responsible for keeping the company network running. He first joined WTC
in 1993 and was the developer of WTC's auction information line (1-800-GO2WERK).
His latest project has been the WTC AuctiON-LINE, to
deliver WTC's information products through the World Wide Web. Stephen graduated with Distinction and Honors from Stanford University with a bachelor's in Public Policy and a minor in Computer Science in 1999. He is currently at Yale Law School. |
