Claiborne Stud Fee Stats: 0 Up, 4 Down; 5 No Change
If you’re breeding to race, where are you going to find a better stud fee value than Out of Place at $5,000? His lifetime starts are terrific: 82% starters, 62% winners to foals, 22% two-year-old winners, 6% SWs, and average earnings per runner of $57,145!
I was pleased as well as a little surprised that Pulpit stayed at $80,000. As the older high-level stallions such as Storm Cat retire from stud, Pulpit appears ready to ascend to the upper echelon. He’s sired 32 SWs from his first seven crops, including 6 G1 winners. Not only does Pulpit get the “big” horse, but he’s starting to show signs of becoming a sire of sires. His sons Tapit and Sky Mesa have both sired G1 winners from their freshman crops. Pulpit offers a lot of bang for the buck!
